Tinubu: Amaechi reacts as staff oppose Buhari’s naming of Apapa Station
Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has assured that extra outstanding Nigerians might be honoured within the naming of railway stations.
Amaechi stated this in a press release on Saturday by his spokesman, Taiye Elebiyo-Edeni.
He was reacting to a name by the Nigerian Union of Railway Employees (NUR) for reversal of the Apapa Railway Station naming.
President Muhammadu Buhari had designated it Bola Ahmed Tinubu railway Station.
Segun Esan, NUR Normal Secretary, declared that Waziri Mohammed, Chairman of Nigerian Railway Board till his loss of life, deserved the honour.
Esan argued that Mohammed died whereas in lively service.
He pressured that renaming the infrastructure after him could be a mark of his sterling contributions to nation constructing.
In his response, Ameachi stated Mohammed could be named after a much bigger railway facility.
“We’re naming a much bigger station after Waziri Mohammed”, the previous Rivers State Governor assured.
